I began my search for a home one year before I met Stuart Cooper. I had dealt with several loan officers, but I always had an uncomfortable feeling like they weren’t being upfront with me. After much searching, I finally found the home that met all my needs. I quick submitted an offer using the finance company from my real estate agent. While waiting for the bank to get back to me on whether or not the offer was accepted, I consulted with one of my co-workers who had recently re-financed her home with the help of Stuart. She had nothing but great things to say about him so I asked her for Stuart’s phone number and website. I was intrigued by the wealth of knowledge and information that Stuart provided on his website for free. I specifically began to follow his “Daily Rate Lock Advisory”. He was basically spot on with his daily forecast as to when would be a good day to lock in the loan. It was 5 days after I submitted my offer that the bank actually accepted it. At this point I was so excited yet overwhelmed because I knew it was going to be a very long and difficult process seeing that I was a first time home buyer. Right after the offer was accepted, I gave Stuart a call late in the evening. I introduced myself and he immediately began offering me some great advise as well as offering me a great interest rate of 4.85%. I immediately asked if he could be my loan officer and we locked in the rate. I felt 100% confident that Stuart would take care of me and sure enough I was in constant communication with him throughout the process. I sometimes called him several times a day with so many questions and he always managed to go above and beyond what I could expect for an answer. My loan was specifically difficult because the bank who owned the property asked to have the loan funded in 2 weeks. Mind you this was during the Christmas week. Stuart worked extremely hard to make sure the loan was funded on time as well as getting me a final 30 year fixed interest rate of 4.75%. I couldn’t have imagined an easier transaction as a first time home buyer. Stuart even helped me with concerns that should have been taken care of by my real estate agent. I built a great relationship with Stuart and to this day I feel comfortable enough to give him a ring and have a casual conversation or even ask him any finance questions I may have. He always takes the time to make sure everything gets taken care of. If anyone was looking to buy a new home, I would definitely recommend Stuart because of his high level of professionalism, knowledge, and ability to get the job done!

In mid 2003 my wife and I were fortunate enough to find our dream home. Having no expertise in real estate or finance we relied on the expertise of our realtor, who we knew and trusted. She recommended that we contact Stuart Cooper to assist us in securing a loan to finance the property.
The trust was well put. The world of finance is extremely complex to one not informed in those matters. Mr. Cooper contributed to easing any anxiety we had by clearly explaining the process and the best manner to approach it. We did not qualify for 100% financing; so he explained that the best approach was to secure the major portion on a first mortgage and the remaining lesser portion on a 2nd mortgage. He farther explained that because of the movement of the current market, in a year or so we could refinance the property and pay off the 2nd mortgage. We agreed and he commenced and completed the process and on September 8, 2003 escrow closed and we became proud homeowners.
In September 2004, we contacted Stuart again to discuss refinancing to pay off the small 2nd mortgage. Again he handled the process and in short order secured financing and we were able to pay off the 2nd mortgage.
We are still happy with our home and are extremely pleased that the complex world of securing finance was made tolerable by Stuart Cooper.

In mid-2003 my wife, Lisa, and I decided to sell our home of 15 years if we could find a suitably larger home in a desirable area. Knowing that searching the multitude of mortgage options would be tedious, I asked a close friend, who I respect, for advice. She told me that she and her husband had contracted through a young mortgage broker who was honest, straightforward and extremely thorough. His name was Stuart Cooper.
Lisa and I knew that because of some extenuating circumstances we would likely buy and close on a new home prior to listing our existing home. Stuart worked closely with Lisa and me to determine the best plan forward for finding the right mortgage for our unique situation.

The house-hunting expedition in 2003 was grueling. With the help of an agent, we toured and reviewed 49 candidate homes and formally submitted at-price or above-price offers on six homes; only to be outbid on each one. Throughout these many months, Stuart remained diligent and patient. His personable demeanor made it easy for me to talk to him. He offered advice on dealing with the real estate bidding wars that were now common in the area. He provided helpful information on home equity and bridge loans knowing that we would likely require the additional resources once we found a new home. In November 2003 our luck turned and our offer was accepted on a home in our most desired area. The owner wanted a short escrow as she was moving out of state, so Stuart immediately began expediting the process of all the necessary documents and forms. As an engineer, I meticulously scrutinize legal forms and again Stuart patiently walked me through the legal verbiage and all costs and estimates. In the end, Stuart processed and completed a complex mortgage option and somehow made it look easy. Lisa and I were extremely satisfied with Stuart’s results.

The loan on this home was a 5 year hybrid loan, which at the time was the best option for Lisa and me. In 2006, I again contacted Stuart to discuss possible refinancing. Based on Stuart’s expectations of possible changes to more favorable rates, he recommended that I hold off on a refinance. I found it impressive and refreshing to find someone in a service organization who would recommend a course of action that benefited the client more than the provider. Stuart and I kept in touch with regular phone calls and monthly mailings regarding market trends. In late 2007, the bank through which my home loan was secured offered Lisa and me an opportunity to ‘modify’ our loan to extend the term at a very reasonable cost. I immediately called Stuart to discuss. He suggested several questions I should ask and helped me to understand how a ‘loan modification’ works. Again, Stuart’s straightforward honesty surprised me. He recommended that I take the bank’s offer as it was a better deal than he could offer. Lisa and I took the loan modification, thereby extending our current loan at a still low rate. I requested from Stuart that as he continues to monitor the market, to call me if rates become more favorable than this new modification. In June 2009, Stuart contacted me with information regarding the new rates on 30 year loans. Within 3 weeks of that phone call, Lisa and I again refinanced our home loan to a rate better than the ‘modified’ loan. I have and will continue to refer Stuart to all who ask about finding a good mortgage broker and in some cases when I hear of a friend, who is house-hunting, will strongly suggest that they give Stuart a call.
